How to Save and Share These Images on WhatsApp

Saving takes one long press. These steps were checked on 1 October 2026; button names can differ a little between phones and app versions.

Save the image to your phone

  1. On Android (Chrome): touch and hold the card, then tap Download image. It lands in your gallery or Downloads folder.
  2. On iPhone (Safari): touch and hold the card, then tap Save to Photos.
  3. Reading this inside the Facebook or Instagram app? If no save option appears, open the page in Chrome or Safari first, or take a screenshot of the card.

Post it to your WhatsApp status

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the Updates tab.
  2. Tap Add status or the camera icon, then pick the card from your gallery.
  3. Add a caption, or tap the text tool to type a name on the image.
  4. Tap send. Status posts disappear after 24 hours.

Send it to one person or a group

  1. Open the chat and tap the attach button (the paperclip on Android, the + on iPhone).
  2. Choose Gallery or Photos, pick the card, add a line of text and send.

What size are the images?

Every card is a 1080 × 1080 pixel square saved as a WebP file. If your phone or WhatsApp treats the saved file oddly, take a screenshot of the card and share the screenshot instead.

When is the best time to post a new month image?

Early on the 1st, while everyone is still swapping new month greetings. Posted on the 2nd or 3rd, it looks late.
